Tarbell recounts that he found the album covered in a layer of dust on the floor of the studio with a note: “Time washes aways what man creates, but ‘Long Lost’ might convince you that a note can live on. Because they could not learn much about the real history of the studio, they imagined a history instead, with "sorta hard luck show biz people" who they channeled for song ideas.
